Sample interview questions
I would begin with discovery around user access patterns, application locations, security incidents, and operational limitations. I would then connect Zero Trust principles—continuous verification, least-privilege access, and application-level segmentation—to measurable outcomes such as reduced attack surface, improved user experience, and simpler remote access operations.
I would define success criteria jointly with the customer before deployment, identify stakeholders and use cases, validate prerequisites, and establish a timeline. During the PoC, I would document results against agreed criteria, address technical issues quickly, and conclude with an executive-ready outcomes review and recommended next steps.
Key concepts include DNS and traffic forwarding, proxy architecture, TLS inspection, firewall policy, URL filtering, authentication flows, and threat prevention. I would tailor the depth to the audience while explaining how the architecture protects users and data without creating unnecessary latency or operational complexity.
I adapt my communication to each stakeholder's priorities. With leaders, I focus on risk reduction, business outcomes, and transformation goals; with administrators, I focus on architecture, integrations, deployment steps, and operational impact. Consistent follow-through and clear documentation help establish trust with both groups.
I would use them to identify traffic patterns, configuration anomalies, potential policy gaps, and likely performance or security risks. The findings should support—not replace—technical validation, and I would clearly explain the evidence, assumptions, and recommended remediation actions to the customer.
