my QA job is draining me and i keep ending up writing bug reports and test docs anyway. should i push toward technical writing or am i just kidding myself about the move

bug reports and test docs are already half the job, so that does sound like a real path. A friend of mine moved from QA into tech writing and liked the calmer pace plus the cleaner output. Not sure if this applies to you but the first few months were messy, then it clicked. Could be totally different for you tho. Have you tried writing one solid doc like a sample piece?
