Dear Hiring Manager,

I am excited to apply for the Communications and Change Lead, Global Trade Services position at TE Connectivity. With over 8 years of experience in corporate communications and change management, I have a proven track record of developing strategic messaging, leading stakeholder engagement, and driving adoption of enterprise initiatives. My background includes managing global communications for cross-functional teams, coordinating leadership messaging, and implementing change management plans that align with organizational goals.

In my previous role at a multinational company, I successfully led the communication strategy for a major system implementation, resulting in a 95% adoption rate within the first quarter. I am skilled at translating complex topics into clear, engaging content and have extensive experience with town halls, newsletters, and digital channels. I thrive in collaborative environments and am adept at influencing stakeholders at all levels to achieve shared objectives.

I am particularly drawn to this opportunity because it combines my passion for communication with the critical area of global trade services. I am confident that my strategic approach, combined with my ability to measure and improve communication effectiveness, would make a strong contribution to the GTS PMO team. Thank you for considering my application. I look forward to discussing how my skills align with TE's needs.

Sincerely,
Jane Doe

Can you describe a time when you developed a communication strategy for a complex project? What was your approach?
I once led communication for a global system rollout. I started by identifying key stakeholders and segmenting audiences. I then developed tailored messaging for each group, selected appropriate channels (email, intranet, town halls), and created a timeline. I also established feedback loops to measure effectiveness and adjusted the plan based on engagement data.
How do you handle resistance to change when implementing new processes or systems?
I first seek to understand the root of resistance through listening sessions or surveys. I then address concerns by transparently communicating the benefits and providing support. I also identify change champions within the team to advocate and model the new behaviors. Regular follow-up and celebrating quick wins help build momentum.
Describe your experience with leadership communications, especially for VP-level executives. How do you ensure alignment?
I have drafted talking points, presentations, and emails for senior leaders. I start by understanding their key messages and preferred style. I collaborate closely with their assistants and ensure content aligns with broader corporate strategy. I also review materials with the leaders beforehand to ensure they feel comfortable and confident.
How do you measure the effectiveness of your communication campaigns?
I use metrics such as open rates for emails, attendance at events, survey feedback, and adoption rates of changes. I also conduct pulse checks to gauge understanding and sentiment. Based on data, I refine messaging and channels to improve reach and impact.
This role partners with Learning and Talent Development for training rollouts. How would you approach coordinating with them?
I would establish regular touchpoints with the L&D team to align on objectives and timelines. I would ensure training materials are integrated into communication plans and that employees receive clear, consistent messaging about upcoming training. I would also gather feedback post-training to improve both communication and learning experiences.

At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.
