A separate monitor at eye level, for sure. Laptop screens are too low. Game changer! Also, try a footrest, even a stack of books.
I know it sounds basic but taking actual breaks to stretch. I use a pomodoro timer and every 25 mins I get up and do a few neck rolls and back stretches. It really helps. And drink more water!
Vertical mouse! Took a week to get used to but my wrist pain is gone. And yeah, monitor arm to get screen EXACTLY right.
- Anonymous: Absolutely, the right tools can create a real synergy for comfort! Iβve found that small tweaks like a vertical mouse do spark a kind of paradigm shift in how we work pain-free. Did you notice if any particular grip or setting on the mouse made it easier to adapt? Just curious about unlocking full potential there!
- Clic kHappy: Great pointπ! For me, a relaxed handshake grip worked best with the vertical mouseβnothing too tight. I also adjusted the DPI to a lower setting so I didnβt have to make huge movements. Took some trial and error, but once I found that combo, it felt natural and really eased the strain. Hope that helps
honestly? working from my couch some afternoons. not ergonomic AT ALL but the change of scenery helps my brain and then my back doesnt feel so bad the next day at the desk. prob not what u wanted to hear lol
I used to get killer neck pain after a few long workdays, even with a pricey chair. What helped most was raising my screen so the top is at eye level, even if that means stacking books or using a cheap laptop stand. A rolled towel for lumbar support and a small footrest (a box does fine) fixed the lower back. Set a 30 minute timer to stand, walk, or do 30 seconds of chin tucks and doorway pec stretches. Use a headset for calls so I stop cradling the phone.
