Fixing a Rejected Ad: How to Resubmit for Review
Sometimes an advertising campaign does not pass our initial review process. When this happens, the campaign’s status on your dashboard will update to Rejected, marked with a red status badge. Don’t worry—fixing a rejected ad and getting it back into the approval queue is a straightforward process.
This guide explains how to identify why your ad was declined, the specific rules for resubmission, and the steps to successfully launch your updated campaign.
Understanding the Rejection Reason
When your ad is rejected, our moderation team selects a specific reason for the decline. You will be notified of this exact reason via an automated email. The most common reasons for ad rejection on our platform are:
- Prohibited Content: The ad promotes services or products that violate our platform guidelines.
- Low Quality Image: The uploaded graphic is blurry, distorted, or heavily pixelated.
- Broken URL: The Target Link leads to a 404 error page, a broken website, or an unsafe destination.
- Misleading Text: The ad description does not accurately match the destination page or makes false promises.
The Golden Rule of Resubmission
To maintain a high-quality ecosystem and prevent spam, our platform uses a smart “hashing” system for rejected ads.
Important Note: When your ad is rejected, the system securely records the exact combination of your creative elements. You cannot simply click “Launch” or “Save Ad” again without making actual changes. If you attempt to resubmit the exact same ad, the system will block the action and display an error stating: “Please modify the ad creative (Title, Text, URL, or Image) to resubmit for moderation.” Furthermore, you cannot manually force a rejected ad into a “Running” state using the Launch button; you must use the Edit form.
Step-by-Step Guide to Resubmitting
To get your ad back into the moderation queue, follow these steps:
- Navigate to your Ads Dashboard and locate the rejected campaign.
- Click the Edit button located at the bottom of the ad card.
- Make the necessary corrections based on your rejection reason. To trigger a successful re-review, you must alter at least one of the core visible elements: the Ad Title, Ad Text, Target URL, or upload a new Image.
- As you type your new text or upload a new image, keep an eye on the notification text just above the Save button. It will dynamically update to say: “Ad will be sent for re-moderation. You will receive a notification regarding the status of the review.”
- Click Save Ad.
- The system will process your changes and automatically update the campaign’s status from Rejected to Pending Moderation.
Strategic Recommendations & Best Practices
To ensure your ad passes moderation on your second attempt, keep these tips in mind:
- Make Meaningful Creative Changes: Adjusting your Daily Budget, Total Budget, Frequency caps, or your CPM bid will not bypass the anti-spam filter. The system only looks for changes in the ad’s Title, Text, Target URL, or Image.
- Double-Check Your URLs: A “Broken URL” is one of the easiest issues to fix. Before resubmitting, copy your Target Link and paste it into a new, incognito browser tab to ensure it loads correctly and securely.
- Upgrade Your Visuals: If your image was flagged for low quality, replace it with a crisp, high-resolution JPG, PNG, or WebP file. Do not worry about resizing it manually; our built-in image uploader will automatically crop it to the perfect dimensions.
