Navigate the job market with more confidence. Our Job Legitimacy Checker is here to help you verify suspicious job postings and avoid potential scams.

At Jobicy, we are committed to providing a safe and trustworthy platform for your job search. As part of this commitment, we offer a free Job Legitimacy Checker service exclusively for our logged-in users. If you’ve come across a job offer that feels “too good to be true” or raises any concerns, our team can help you assess its authenticity.

Submitting a Vacancy for Review: A Simple Process

  1. Visit the Page: Go to the Job Legitimacy Checker page on Jobicy.
  2. Enter the Vacancy URL: Copy the full web address (URL) of the job posting you want us to review and paste it into the “Vacancy URL” field.
  3. Add Notes (Recommended): While optional, providing notes can be very helpful. If something specific made you suspicious (e.g., they asked for payment, the contact email looks unofficial, the job description is very vague, or the salary seems unrealistic), please describe it in the “Notes” section. The more context you provide, the better our team can assess the listing.
  4. Submit: Click the “Submit for Review” button. Your request will be sent to our team, and we will use your registered Jobicy email address to send you our findings.

What Happens After You Submit? Our Manual Review Process

Unlike automated checkers, our Jobicy team manually reviews each submitted vacancy. We carefully examine the details of the job posting, the information available about the company, and look for common red flags associated with job scams.

  • Response Time: We aim to review submissions and get back to you as quickly as possible. You can typically expect an email with our assessment within 1 to 24 hours, depending on the current volume of requests.
  • Notification: You will receive an email at your registered Jobicy email address once the review is complete.

Understanding Your Review Results

Our team will provide one of the following assessments:

  • Appears Legitimate: Based on our review, we found no immediate, obvious indicators of a scam. However, we always advise you to continue exercising caution and due diligence throughout the application process.
  • Potentially Suspicious: We found elements that raise concerns and warrant significant caution. We will advise you to conduct further thorough research and be extremely wary of requests for personal information or payment.
  • Likely Scam: The job posting exhibits multiple strong indicators commonly associated with employment scams. We will strongly advise you to cease all communication and not provide any personal or financial details.
  • No Vacancy Found / Invalid Link: We were unable to access or find a valid job vacancy at the URL you provided. This could be due to a typo, an expired listing, or access restrictions.

Important Things to Know:

  • Daily Submission Limit: To ensure we can provide a quality review for all users, you can submit up to 10 vacancies per day. You’ll see a counter on the page showing your current usage for the day.
  • Previously Checked URLs: If you submit a URL that our team has already reviewed (either from your submission or another user’s), we’ll let you know the previous outcome. If it’s currently in our queue from another user, we’ll inform you that it’s pending review. This helps us work efficiently and get you information faster.
  • Your Vigilance is Key: Our checker is a powerful tool to aid your job search, but it’s not a substitute for your own judgment and due diligence. Always be cautious when dealing with new employers or offers.

A Note on Staying Safe:

While our team is here to help, also keep an eye out for common job scam warning signs:

  • Offers that sound too good to be true (e.g., very high pay for little work/experience).
  • Vague job descriptions or company information.
  • Requests for payment for application processing, training materials, or “guaranteed” placement.
  • Requests for sensitive personal information (bank account details, credit card numbers, social security/ID numbers) very early in the process.
  • Poor grammar, spelling, and unprofessional communication.
  • Use of free email addresses (like Gmail, Yahoo) for official company communication instead of a corporate domain.
  • Interviews conducted solely via instant messaging or chat apps.
